About the Role:
As an Adult Weight Management Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in delivering an evidence-based behavioural change obesity programme for adults during their weekly and potentially their monthly maintenance phase. Your passion and enthusiasm for
helping individuals achieve healthier lifestyles will be essential, as you plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to their needs. Strong organizational skills will be vital for managing multiple responsibilities effectively while providing comprehensive support to clients on their journey to recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and engage adult groups in effective and sustainable weight loss strategies, dedicating 80% of time to face-to-face delivery across multiple venues, ensuring seamless travel between locations.
Deliver a multi-component, action-oriented program that maximises participant engagement.
Apply psychological coaching techniques, such as motivational interviewing and mindfulness, to help clients overcome barriers and achieve their weight loss goals.
Facilitate dynamic, interactive sessions on physical activity and healthy eating, guiding participants in setting and achieving realistic behavioral change goals.
Foster an inclusive and supportive environment tailored to individual needs, maintaining regular communication, including follow-ups for absentees.
Manage program evaluation, data collection, and reporting while adhering to safeguarding procedures to ensure participant safety and continuous improvement.
Support administrative processes, including accurate record-keeping and client engagement coordination, to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
About You:
We are seeking a candidate with exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a genuine passion for helping individuals supporting individuals to achieve weight loss and a healthier lifestyle. The ideal applicant will have the confidence to plan and deliver engaging weight loss sessions for adults, in addition to the following qualifications and skills:
A degree (or degree equivalent) relevant qualification in any of the following: Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Promotion, Education, Psychology, Physical Education, Sport & Exercise, or a related field.
Experience in motivational interviewing and using CBT techniques, particularly in dealing with individuals facing sensitive issues.
Experience working with adults and children in group facilitation and coaching settings.
Proficient in accessing and utilising IT systems effectively.

Job Purpose:
To ensure that evidence-based Stop Smoking programmes are delivered to targeted populations across the borough. You will support individuals to make positive lifestyle changes using behaviour change interventions and motivational engagement, acting as the client’s main point of reference throughout their journey.
Using an integrated, holistic approach, you will help clients improve their health through smoking cessation, harm reduction, healthy eating, physical activity, alcohol reduction and stress management — with a primary focus on supporting individuals to stop smoking and reduce tobacco use.
You will deliver one-to-one (face-to-face and remote), drop-in and outreach sessions to help smokers achieve 4-week and 12-week quit outcomes, supporting long-term behaviour change. Approximately 80% of your week will be dedicated to clinical delivery.
About the Role:

- Address health inequalities by providing targeted support to priority groups including Mental Health, Young People, Routine & Manual workers and Maternity clients.
- Support smokefree homes initiatives and conduct outreach work across the borough.
This is a varied, rewarding role requiring flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend work (time off in lieu provided).

Maintain accurate client records using the My Smoke Free Life (MSFL) system.
Manage and supply stop smoking treatments during sessions.
Promote clinics and outreach activities to maintain engagement and meet KPIs.
Build strong relationships with health services, community organisations and workplaces.
Deliver presentations and training sessions to professionals and stakeholders.
Support smoking prevention initiatives for children and young people.
Mentor volunteers and primary care staff.
Maintain equipment (e.g. CO monitors) and restock adviser treatment supplies.
Work flexibly to meet commissioner demand and service targets.

Job Purpose:
You’ll play a key role in helping people across the borough make meaningful, long-term changes to their health and wellbeing. As a Behaviour Change Specialist (Smoking Cessation), you’ll support individuals to stop smoking and reduce tobacco harm through evidence-based, one-to-one and group interventions—both face-to-face and remotely. You’ll be each client’s main point of contact, guiding them through their quit journey and helping them build healthier habits around physical activity, nutrition, alcohol use and stress management.
Around 80% of your week will be spent delivering clinical stop-smoking support, helping clients achieve 4- and 12-week quit outcomes and sustaining long-term
behaviour change. You’ll also contribute to training community advisors in settings such as GP practices, pharmacies, schools, hospitals and specialist services, expanding the reach of the programme. A key part of the role is addressing health inequalities by tailoring support for priority groups including young people, maternity, mental health, and routine/manual workers.
You’ll also take part in outreach, run regular clinics and contribute to smoke-free homes initiatives, ensuring the service is accessible, inclusive and impactful across the community.
