Natalie Tilley, 31, from Manchester had struggled with her weight for a decade. She was tired of the “quick fix” promise and wanted to try something different. She found MoreLife and started making the changes she’d always wanted to.

I began struggling with my weight when I turned 20. Over the years, I had tried to lose weight in so many different ways, but none of them worked. This took a toll on my mental and physical health. I had no confidence. I didn’t like leaving the house as I thought people would judge me. I was too embarrassed to try exercise, even walking my dog felt like a big challenge. I felt stuck in a vicious circle of self-sabotaging behaviour.

Then, when I was 28, I was diagnosed with a 2-1 heart block, and I got given a pacemaker. This made me realise I needed to change my lifestyle to help my heart. Also, medication and therapy for my mental health helped me to put things into perspective. I didn’t want to be the person I was before. I could see my worth and I finally felt ready to start making real changes.

I found MoreLife through my GP and it immediately felt different to anything I had tried before.

My practitioner showed me how I could change my eating habits and patterns to improve my relationship with food. I was given support on how to control the amount of food I ate. It wasn’t just taught about portion control, but I was also shown how I could change the way I thought about food. I learned to be more mindful, and not eat based on my feelings in the moment.

This course wasn’t a quick fix diet, it taught me how to make long-lasting lifestyle changes. MoreLife helped me understand that to make the changes I wanted, I had to change my mindset.

Once this clicked into place, I started making more changes. I started breaking my past eating habits and picked up new habits. I added small exercises into my daily routine. Before MoreLife, I never would have the had confidence to put on a swimming costume and go to my local pool. Those first steps into the water felt like such a big achievement for me.


The support I received on this course was amazing. Not just from my practitioner, but my group too. My group made me feel less alone, and it was a safe space where we could all share our problems and offer support to one another. 

Since starting MoreLife I have lost 10 kilos. I’m confident I can carry on with my weight loss journey, thanks to what I’ve learnt on the programme. MoreLife has changed my outlook on life, and I couldn’t have done it without the amazing support from my coaches and peers. This is my new life, not just a quick fix.

Natalie’s starting weight was 158.3kg and by the end of the programme was 147.9kg.  She’s confident she can keep making the changes MoreLife helped her with, thanks to her new positive mindset.
